Food & Nutrition
Nutritious meals give children strength, health, concentration and the daily stability they need to grow.

Food Is Daily Care
Children need food every day.
At Purple Rose Orphans, meals are not only about hunger. Food supports health, school attendance, energy, growth and emotional stability.
A child who eats well can learn better, play more freely and face the day with more strength.

What Food Support Includes
Food From the Community, Care for the Children
Whenever possible, food should reflect local life and local nutrition.
Local foods such as matoke, cassava, rice, beans, greens and vegetables are part of daily life in Uganda and help us care for the children in a realistic and sustainable way.

Special Care for Babies and Younger Children
Babies and very young children need close feeding, milk, formula, hygiene and careful daily attention.
Baby formula and milk are especially important because the youngest children depend on consistent nutrition for healthy growth.
A Nourished Child Can Learn Better
Food and education are connected.
When children are hungry, it is harder to focus, attend school, play, remember and grow with confidence. Nutrition gives children a better chance to learn and participate in daily life.
Where Your Money Goes

Why Monthly Support Helps
Food is not a one-time need.
Monthly donations help us plan meals, buy essentials, support babies and respond before food becomes an emergency. A small recurring gift can become part of the children's daily routine.
Help Put Food on the Table
Your gift can become meals, milk, baby formula and daily nutrition for children who need care every day.
