Rooted in Community, Working in Mityana

Purple Rose Orphans is a community-based organisation working in Mityana, Uganda.

The children do not grow in isolation. They are part of a local community, and the strength of that community matters.

Mityana, Uganda

Our work is rooted in the Mityana community.

Local roots

Built by local people, for local children and families.

Real relationships

Neighbours, caregivers and children who know each other.

A child's wellbeing is connected to the people, families, neighbours and local environment around them. When the community is stronger, children are less isolated and more supported.

Standing With Very Poor Families

Purple Rose Orphans also wants to support very poor families in the local community where possible.

Some families in the neighbourhood face extreme poverty and need basic help such as food or essential items.

This community support must always be given with dignity and respect.

Christmas Support for 10 Families

At Christmas, Purple Rose Orphans supported 10 very poor families from the local community.

This was a small but meaningful action that reflects our community-based purpose: practical help, given with dignity, to families facing hardship.

Received Christmas food and essentials in our most recent community action.
