Transparency & Accountability

Trust Should Be Visible

Supporters deserve to understand who Purple Rose is, how the two organisations work together, how support is used and how children are protected.

We publish the information that helps people make an informed decision, while protecting signatures, sensitive records, banking information and children's privacy.

Accountable Structure

One mission. Two independent organisations working together.

Purple Rose Orphans in Uganda and Purple Rose Greece have different legal identities and responsibilities. Keeping those roles clear is part of responsible governance.

Uganda

Purple Rose Orphans

Responsible for the children's daily care and the local work in Mityana.

  • Caregiver coordination and daily routines
  • Food, health, education and home needs
  • Local records, reporting and safeguarding
Greece

Purple Rose Greece

A separate Greek support association that mobilises support and follows how it is used.

  • Fundraising and supporter communication
  • Awareness, partnerships and community action
  • Review of reporting and support needs
Support from Greece does not change who is responsible for daily care in Uganda. Purple Rose Greece supports the work; Purple Rose Orphans remains responsible for the home and local operations in Mityana.
How Support Is Used

Support follows the real needs of the children and the home

Donations help cover connected areas of care rather than a single isolated expense.

Safe Home & Daily Care

Housing needs, bedding, hygiene, daily routines and the practical running of a safe home.

Food & Nutrition

Regular meals, food supplies and age-appropriate nutrition for the children.

Health & Safety

Healthcare, prevention, hygiene supplies and health-related needs.

Education

School fees, uniforms, books, supplies and support for learning.

Skills & Joy

Play, creativity, sport, learning tools and activities that support confidence and development.

Community & Connection

Responsible support that strengthens links with the local community and families in vulnerable circumstances where appropriate.

We do not claim that 100% of donations go directly to children.

Responsible care also has shared and operational costs. A safe home needs transport, communication, household supplies, administration, maintenance and other practical expenses that make the children's care possible.

Our commitment is to explain support honestly, keep records and avoid misleading claims about how every euro, pound or dollar is used.

Financial Principles

Simple principles guide the use of support

Needs-led

Support is directed toward verified needs rather than invented campaigns or unnecessary activities.

Recorded

Expenses and support activity are documented so they can be reviewed and followed over time.

Shared costs are acknowledged

Operational expenses are part of responsible care and are not hidden behind a false 100% claim.

Reviewable

Reporting, records and follow-up allow the support relationship to be checked rather than taken on trust alone.

Legal Status

Registered structures in Uganda

The public website shows the essential registration information. Full originals containing signatures, stamps or other sensitive details are not offered as unrestricted downloads.

Certification previews are provided as clearly marked website display copies. They are watermarked and, where appropriate, redacted to protect signatures, identifiers and other details while still allowing supporters to verify the organisation's legal status.
Child Safeguarding

Transparency never overrides a child's privacy

We share enough information to explain the work, but not details that turn children into fundraising material or expose them unnecessarily.

First names only where needed
No private family histories or medical details for fundraising
Photography and updates follow safeguarding and consent rules
No private access to children is created through donations or sponsorship
Read Child Protection Policy
Payment & Data Safety

Sensitive information is handled carefully

Transparency does not mean publishing every document or personal detail. Bank information, personal data and sensitive records are handled according to their purpose and level of risk.

Current donation methods are maintained on the Donate page
Sensitive documents may be redacted or summarised
Personal data is not published as proof of transparency
Privacy information is available before supporters share personal data

Questions Are Welcome

Transparency should make it easier to ask informed questions, follow the work and decide how you want to support it.
