On-site skilled support
Short-term or specialist support may be appropriate when a clearly defined task benefits from someone being physically present.
Useful volunteering starts with what the children and the home actually need.
Purple Rose does not organise volunteer tourism. We welcome responsible people whose skills, experience and availability match a real, clearly defined need.

Not every useful contribution requires the same kind of presence. The right option depends on the need, the skill and what is safe for the children.

Local volunteers can bring music, sport, creativity, practical knowledge and community connection in a familiar, sustainable way.
Some needs can be met remotely through professional advice, planning, training, technical work or practical support for the organisation.
Needs change over time. These are examples, not a promise that a volunteer role is currently open.
Tutoring, reading support, teacher skills and structured learning activities.
Appropriate healthcare, public health, hygiene or health education expertise.
Music, dance, drawing, crafts and child-safe creative activities.
Safe, structured sport and movement activities that support teamwork and confidence.
Computer learning, IT support, digital training or useful technical assistance.
Maintenance, repairs, gardening and other clearly needed practical work.
Skills transfer that strengthens caregivers, local volunteers or organisational capacity.
Legal, accounting, communications, fundraising or other professional expertise.
We screen the request, confirm the actual need and agree what the volunteer would do. This protects the children and avoids creating work for caregivers simply to host a visitor.
Skills, experience, availability and the type of contribution you are proposing.
The local team confirms whether that skill is useful at that time.
Any activity involving children must fit our child-protection rules and supervision requirements.
Purpose, boundaries, timing, supervision and expected outcome are agreed in advance.
If the match is useful and responsible, we agree the next practical steps.
Anyone volunteering with Purple Rose must respect the same safeguarding principles that guide the rest of our work.
Tell us briefly what skill or experience you can offer, your availability, and how you think it could meet a real need. The local team will decide whether there is a responsible match.
